Rather than simply directing children, Waldorf teachers often use songs and rhymes to engage the attention of their students.
Here is a small sample of songs and rhymes used by the teachers in the preschool/kindergarten to encourage good behavior and teach new skills.

To help children into welcoming new friends into their play:

Crosspatch, draw the latch.
Sit by the fire and spin.
Take a cup, fill it up,
Invite your neighbor in.

Learning to tie bows:

I'll make me a butterfly bow
I'll make me a butterfly bow
Here is one wing
But where's the other?
Round I run
and I meet my brother.
Under the bridge
He's hidden the other
Pull it through
It has tied my shoe.

Putting on Mittens:

Thumbs in the thumb place,
Fingers all together.
This is the song we sing in mitten weather.
When it is cold, it doesn't matter whether
Mittens are wool or made of finest leather.
This is the song we sing in mitten weather.
Thumbs in the thumb place,
Fingers all together.

Following Song:

Come follow, follow me
As happy as can be.
Come now here
and take a hand.
We will follow through the land.
Come follow, follow me
As happy as can be.
